| The new VersaTrap® cassette was developed for aerosol monitoring of
mold spores, fibers, asbestos and fungi. It allows quantitative analysis of
biological and inorganic particles for most airborne aerosol screening
applications. It is a critical tool during preliminary investigation and
for profiling room contamination. The aerosol samples can be drawn through the
VersaTrap® at a high velocity without damaging the contaminants. A narrow
slit at the top of the cassette focuses particles in the airflow towards a
circular glass slide coated with a proprietary collection media. The particles
adhere to the slide upon impact, while the air continues around the slide and
exits the bottom of the cassette. The slide is removed from the cassette, stained
and analyzed by routine methods. The collection media is compatible with a wide
range of biological stains and refractive index oils. |
